How to choose 58mm thermal receipt printers

• Desktop or portable — Desktop units sit at a fixed till with mains power. Portable and Bluetooth models run on battery for delivery, market stalls and field service.
• Print speed — 50–90mm/s is fine for short receipts and queue tickets. Choose 160mm/s if the printer serves a continuous counter.
• Cutter — Most 58mm models use manual tear-off, which is adequate for short receipts and keeps the unit cheaper. Specify an auto cutter only if the printer runs unattended.
• Interface — USB is the default. Add Bluetooth for tablet and phone-based POS; LAN if the printer is shared.
